Actually, screw the wangst.

THERE IS NO NEED FOR IT WHEN YOU'VE GOT TORCHWOOD, HETALIA, KUROSHITSUJI, TWO & A HALF MEN, HOUSE, HAGAREN, HALF A BILLION SCANLATED DOUJINS, SEVERAL TOTALLY RIDICULOUS KOREAN DRAMAS AND BUMP OF CHICKEN CHICKEN CHICKEN CHICKEN..

JOHN BARROWMAN, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO LOVE AN AMERICAN LIKE THIS. THIS IS WRONG.

YONEZOU NEKOTA, MATSUMOTO TEMARI, MIYAMOTO AKI, KAZUKI YONE: MAKING MY HEART BEAT INDECENTLY FAST AND SALIVA POOL BY THE BUCKETS.

IDEA FACTORY, YOU MAKE NON-GAMER ME WANT TO PLAY GAMES IN A LANGUAGE I CAN'T READ. EVEN THOUGH THE GAMES MAY WELL BE CRAP, YOU'RE DOING FABULOUS IN THE ART DEPT.

SWEET POOL, DEAR GOD, SWEET POOL, NEVER HAS GORE BEEN SO GORGEOUS AND LUSH. NITRO+CHIRAL WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME.

LIBERATION AND BISHIES I HAS THEM.

~ I Should Have Known

...That I'd get completely suckered in and see my day disappear faster than...something really fast. I can't even really remember how I got from Checking Emails this morning to Frantically Clicking Through Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden several hours later. Sigh.

It's almost as great a guilty pleasure as the original Fushigi Yuugi anime was (I haven't read the manga. At 100+ chapters, I'd better not start now either.)  I find the darkness of Ayashi No Ceres, and its greater complexity in themes as well as characters, a lot more interesting. (and certainly classic enough for me to re-watch or re-read unlike Fushigi Yuugi which is sometimes just too agonising to go through all over again)

But Yuu Watase's style has matured somewhat and her characters are no longer as gratingly shallow as they used to be. It's nice to re-visit the Universe of the Four Gods without having to live through the painful Miaka-Yui-Tamahome Hormonefest Saga (where everyone seemed to be raping someone/been raped/intended to rape/unhealthily obssessed with virginity, always hung up about unrequited love/lust ). Genbu Kaiden has a lot less of that soap-opera dynamic and spends more time on the actual quest/plot/character development instead of perpetual fights/wangst abut who loves who and why and when, stupid, stupid miunderstandings and loads of crap in between.

It's not finished yet and apparently on hiatus until next year. Whch blows a bit. But not really. Since that means there won't be any distraction from that quarter for some months. Just have to resist re-watching Ayashi no Ceres in the meantime. GAH.

EDIT: And I realise I blogged about Absolute Boyfriend some time back also. Damn, the hours this mangaka steals from me. Mutter grumble. I've probably read more of her works than any other mangaka. Is disturbing. Especially since I adore Kazuya Minekura and CLAMP's art much, much more. BL mangaka don't count since they don't do Epic manga serials/anime/ova Empires >8D

Remember my last post which had a large paragraph on the Woes of Visual Novels with Incredible Bishies which Only Come in Japanese? Since nobody will really Understand until they see for themselves, this shall be a minor pic post. (In-between scanning my Japan photos which is Taking For-Bloody-Ever).

EDIT: I KNOW THIS WAS AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE BUT WTF I WANT THESE SO BAD. HAKUOKI BEDSHEETS ZOMG THAT IS LIKE A LIFE-SIZED PICTURE OUT OF SOME R-RATED BL MANGA. THE WANT IS OVERWHELMING.

Scratch what I posted yesterday. MAVID IS THE NEW DOPE.

Indeed, the bromantic House/Wilson photoshoot was of INCREDIBLEOSM! but AMERICAN IDOL HAS DONE ONE BETTER. (Sad to say, I only discovered this today).

I PRESENT TO YOU THE MAVID DANCE COMPILATION:
(featuring of course, AI7's David Cook and Michael Johns)

Sure the beginning is a bit ho-hum but it GETS BETTER AND SILLIER AND GOOD GOD THEY SHOULD HAVE LET THEM DUET IN THE FINALE BLOODY PRODUCING BASTARDS. (Although the greatest is MAVID v13.0 which isn't up on Youtube but is downloadable here)

In 2 days I've sped my way through 10 episodes of Boys Before Flowers. In case you don't know, Boys Before Flowers is the South Korean version of Hana Yori Dango

Watch me Ramble About This Korean Drama Thing )

CONCLUSION, just as I was getting tired of K-Pop I am SPAMMED I TELL YOU SPAMMED by T-Max's Paradise (it being the Song of Choice for the OST for every SINGLE TIME Jun Pyo does something jaw-dropping that involves a lot of Money such as flying a private jet, not just any old model but a highly desired one with a waiting list a mile long, to an exclusive resort on an island in New Caledonia which He Bloody OWNS)

AAAAAALMOOOOST PAAAARAAADIIIIIISEEEEEEEE *MUMBLES SOMETHING VAGUELY KOREAN*
(So I haven't got the lyrics down pat.....YET! I WILL SOON NYAHAHAHAHA)

EDIT: HAHAHAHA I AM SO AMUSED. THE DORKY/BIMBOTIC BUM-ASS PRINCIPAL'S SON FROM I AM SAM IS THE SAME ACTOR AS LEADING RICH HOT-ASS IN BOYS BEFORE FLOWERS. LEE MIN HO YOU DORK. (More importantly, you OLDER dork. >8D 1987 baby for teh win)

This is me. Up at 4 in the morning to speed-read a short fulfilling manga that I'll probably never buy. Unfortunately ''Absolute Boyfriend' by Yuu Watase is not so short. (33 frickin chapters/6 volumes!!!)
But fulfilling fluff it is.

Why Yuu Watase Shortcircuits my Prejudices and Brain )

Yuu Watase is my guilty pleasure people. It is just hardwired into me somehow. Which is why I dove into 'Absolute Boyfriend' despite the crappy title, knowing the silly plot and Knowing FULL WELL the typical shit the mangaka is going to pull. (Hell, the characters even look the same as the ones in Fushigi Yuugi. TAMAHOME=GENERIC HERO FOR ALL HER WORK apparently)

So it's still 4am in the morning folks but I feel like I'm on Top of the Damn World. And there is no edition of Great Expectations or award-winning drama that Can Work This MOJO.

GACKT IS BACK
And about time too after that strange pseudo-album Gundam release.
I am so relieved that no matter how long he's been around and how soft he may get, he still swings right back to hot and heavy rocking. Although I wouldn't mind another 'Vanilla'. 8D

How the Hell did I manage to put a scrolling box in here. LJ is being cranky.
BWAHAHAHAHA. I LOVE POOPINESS' PARODIES. They are seriously the WHATONEARTHNasty.

Unnerving to see beautiful boys speak such words, such words. Static they are perfectly poised and ever so pretty. Yet when you open you ears, gravel. Cheap, unrefined, meaningless and aggravating.
What a waste of beauty.

I do not understand how any human being can not care about Music, can have no preferences, no passion for it. An aversion to reading and books I can understand, perhaps but music, never. It is just so absolutely fabulous and thanks to my Friends in China I'm practically glutting myself on brilliant stuff. My music library gets more bizarre by the day. SHINee and Kiri Te Kanawa in the same MP3 player hmm? Or how about Mr Children and Patrick Wolf, or Les Mis with Versailles (Broadway vs. Visual Kei)?

Out of nearly a hundred albums on my player, I've only got more or less, though probably less, ten English albums right now. Catching up on several decades of Japanese music and I do believe I am fanning acts most Japanese kids would a) not know b) find in their parents' closet and c) utterly missing out on. Korean pop is also securing decent portion of memory although I'm not bothered enough to go beyond today's popular acts and even then, very few. (And good LORD, romanisation of Korean is HELLISH to sing along to. Most of the time you're squinting and digesting what on earth those triple vowelled poly-consonant lines of gibberish READ AS, let alone what they mean.)

And because I feel like talking about music and the latest listens, HERE IS A CUT.

BWAHAHAHA. My Antique Bakery manga have finally arrived! Volumes 1 to 3, Oh Happy Day. The covers are a bit battered (and I have a feeling that it's thanks to the postage people in part) but the pages are in excellent condition. AND SO I CELEBRATE WITH STRANGE CRACK! (Though truly, is there any other kind?)

WHAT ON EARTH. WHY IS TAE MIN TOUCHING HIMSELF.To put all them pervy noonas into catatonic shock due to sexual system overload I bet Then again, who cares? I WANT HIGH-DEF VIDEOS OF THIS PRONTO.

CROSSDRESSING!SHINee for 1287745 points and someone please crossdress Tae Min again for a length, high quality photoshoot. (Just the last part because it is incredibly bizarre fun and all you clever Googlers can find the rest of Youtube anyway.)
